Vertical strike
You should wear your revolution
Pour ce nouveau projet de performance, Sarah Trouche s’est engagée à
faire un travail de recherche sur l’émancipation des femmes. Inspirée par
l’histoire de la France pendant la Révolution et le mouvement des « sans
culottes » elle a décidé de crée une pièce collective intitulée « You should
wear your revolution » (Tu devrais porter ta révolution).
Durant plusieurs mois, elle collecte des centaines de culottes de
femmes via Facebook et Instagram.
Dans cette action, les motifs des sous-vêtements représentent la prise de
parole des femmes depuis leur sphère intime, brandissant ensemble leurs
culottes en créant cette performance.
Avec cette donation les femmes parlent fort ! De plus en plus de femmes
joignent leurs voix en envoyant leurs culottes à l’artiste. Chaque culotte
porte une histoire, une intimité. De la même façon, la couleur de chaque
slip est preuve du choix de sa propriétaire, emmenant non seulement une
couleur à la bataille, mais tout un camaïeu de violet, de rose, de vert, et de
blanc à cette lutte. Cet arc-en-ciel symbolise aujourd’hui toutes les voix des
femmes qui ont eu le culot de sortir leurs culottes des tiroirs.

For This news performance project Sarah Trouche is committed to
research on women’s emancipation. Inspirated by the history of
France during the French Revolution and the movement of the «
Sans culottes », she decided to create a collective piece called
« You should wear your revolution »
During several month she collects hundreds of underwear from
women via Facebook and Instagram.
In this action the underwear’s pattern is the sign of women
speaking out of their privacy, brandishing their underwear together
in the creation of this performance
Through this donation women are speaking loud ! More and more
women join theirs voices by sending the underwear to the artist.
Each underwear carries a story, an intimacy, In the same way, each
breeches has its color determined by its owner, bringing not a color
to this fight, but a camaieu of purple, pink, green, white to this
battle. This camaieu symbolizing today all the voices of these women who took their underwear out of their drawers.
